I unironically use this suppressor on a flintlock rifle.
Yes, you heard me right. I have a Thompsen Hawken .50-cal that I meticulously shortened down to a carbine. I threaded the muzzle 3/4x24RH for the QD mount, which just barely clears the stowed ramrod. I shoot Hornady Great Plains 385gr lubed lead bullets over 100gr of FFg real black powder. The inside of the suppressor gets unfathomably, disgustingly dirty in just a few shots! Thankfully, this is the only serviceable .50-cal can I am aware of. What’s even better is the all-titanium construction which allows me to clean my mess up with chemical baths that might damage lesser materials.
Fun fact – you can turn the titanium mounts for any TiON rifle suppressor to a dark, smoky almost-black! Hang the mount from a piece of steel wire. Then use a propane torch to heat the mount reasonably hot (I do not have an exact recommended temperature). Then quench the hot mount in a container of WD-40. Repeating the heat-quench cycle several times will make it incrementally darker. Looks great on a traditional blued gun such as this!
